# Second photo on hover

With LanternWP Companion, a product card shows the product's second photo while a mouse or trackpad pointer rests on its image, such as the product worn by a model after a photo on a plain background. Phones and tablets keep the first photo and do not download the second.

## Choose the second photo

The second photo is the first photo of the product's gallery that is not its product image.

1. Go to **Products** and edit the product.
2. Under **Product gallery**, select **Add product gallery images** and choose the photo, or drag the photos into the order you want; the first one is the second photo on the card.
3. Select **Update**.

A product without gallery photos keeps its image on hover.

## On the cards

Companion places its **Second Photo on Hover** block inside the product image of every product card for you; it stands in the **Product Catalog** template (**Appearance → Editor → Templates**). It takes the image's frame, so the card keeps its size. When a shopper chooses another color with the swatches on the card, the card keeps that color's photo instead.

## Turn it off

1. Go to **Appearance → LanternWP → Features**.
2. In the **Second photo on hover** row, turn the switch off and select **Save**.

Turned off, the second photo shows nowhere: Companion places its **Second Photo on Hover** block in no template, including templates you add later, and a **Second Photo on Hover** block already saved in a template or a page shows nothing in the store. In the Site Editor such a block says "Second photo on hover is off." with a link to turn it on. Turn the switch on again to bring it back where it was.

## Remove it from one template

To keep it on but leave it out of one template, select the **Second Photo on Hover** block in that template in the Site Editor, open **Options** in its toolbar, choose **Delete** and select **Save**. The **Second photo on hover** row in **Features** then says **Removed from templates** with the template's name. To bring it back there, select **Restore in templates** in that row, then **Restore in templates** again to confirm: Companion puts the block back in those templates and keeps your other changes to them.
