# Lowest price before a discount

Stores in the European Union that announce a price reduction must show the lowest price the product had in the 30 days before it. With LanternWP Companion, a line under the sale price says so: "Lowest price in the 30 days before the discount: $49.00".

## Turn it on

1. Go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Products**. The **Lowest price before a discount** section is near the end of the page.
2. Tick **Lowest price** and select **Save changes**.

The line appears wherever WooCommerce shows the price of a product on sale: on product cards, on the product page and for the chosen variation.

## Where the prices come from

Companion records each product's price from the moment it is active, and knows no earlier prices. A product that was already on sale when Companion was activated has no price recorded from before its discount, so it shows no line until its next discount.
