# Header and menus

## Menus

The header and footer menus are Navigation menus, edited in the Site Editor.

1. Go to **Appearance → Editor → Navigation**. **Appearance → LanternWP** links there from **Set up the menus**.
2. Open a menu and add your pages, product categories and links to it, then save.

On phones the header's menu opens from a menu button. The footer lists your product categories and your customer care and company pages; a demo import writes its own footer menus as the footer's columns.

## The header's layout

LanternWP has three headers:

- **Header**: the logo, the menu and a search field (Common Goods).
- **Header with a search bar**: a wide search field between the logo and the account and cart, with the menu below (Voltline).
- **Header with departments**: the same, with an **All categories** button that opens the [departments panel](departments-panel.md) (Kilowatt).

To switch, go to **Appearance → Editor**, select the header, and choose **Replace** in its toolbar to pick another one. Then select **Save**.
