# Bestseller and New badges

With LanternWP Companion, products can carry a **Bestseller** and a **New** badge, on their product cards and above the product title. Rules decide for most products; any product can also show or hide each badge itself. The sale badge shows the discount, such as −20%, or "Up to −30%" when the variations differ.

## Set the rules

1. Go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Products**. The **Product badges** section is at the end of the page.
2. For **New badge**, switch on **Mark recently published products as New** and set for how many days after they are published.
3. For **Bestseller badge**, switch on **Mark the best-selling products as Bestseller** and set how many of the best-selling products, and of which period: the last 7 days, the last 30 days, the last 90 days, the last 12 months or all time.
4. Select **Save changes**. Under each rule, the page says which products the badge is on now.

## Show or hide a badge on one product

1. Edit the product and open **Product data → General**.
2. Set **Bestseller badge** or **New badge** to **Show** or **Hide**. **Automatic** leaves it to the rules.
3. Select **Update**.

## Where they appear

Companion places its **Product Badges** block on product cards and on the product page for you. In the Site Editor you can move it or remove it like any block.
