Terms of use

The rules for using this website, the demo stores and an account. Updated 10 October 2026.

1. Who runs this website

lanternwp.com is run by Testica Iga Małłek, ul. Polna 2, 87-162 Lubicz Górny, Poland (VAT ID PL8911577240), referred to below as “LanternWP”, “we” or “us”. Write to us at hello@lanternwp.com. These terms cover this website, the demo stores on lanternwp.shop and accounts on lanternwp.com. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

2. What the website offers

  • Reading its pages, the documentation, the changelog, the roadmap, and the bugs and ideas other people have reported, without an account.
  • Downloading the LanternWP theme and the LanternWP Companion plugin, the plugin's updates in your WordPress dashboard, and the demo stores it imports, without an account.
  • Trying the demo stores on lanternwp.shop, without an account. They are there to try the theme: nothing you order there is sent or charged, and what you enter is erased every night.
  • An account, to report bugs, suggest ideas, vote, add your reasons, follow what happens to them and get release notes by e-mail.

Everything on this website is free of charge.

3. What you need

An up-to-date web browser. Signing in needs JavaScript and cookies, and an account needs an e-mail address at which you receive mail. Some forms show a Cloudflare Turnstile check that tells people from bots. The theme and the plugin need the versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP their readme files name.

4. Your account

  • Accounts are for people aged 16 or over. One account is for one person.
  • Use an e-mail address you own, and keep your password and passkeys to yourself.
  • The agreement for your account starts when you confirm your e-mail address. You may end it at any time, without giving a reason, by deleting your account in its settings.
  • We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. When we do, we tell you by e-mail why and which rule it breaks, and you can reply to ask us to look again.
  • If we ever stop offering accounts, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before.

5. What you post

Reports, ideas, reasons and votes help everyone who uses LanternWP. When you post them:

  • Keep them lawful and about LanternWP.
  • Do not post other people's personal data. Blur names, e-mail addresses and postal addresses in screenshots before you add them.
  • No advertising, spam or malicious code, and no attempts to break into or overload the website.
  • Report security vulnerabilities privately to security@lanternwp.com, not in a report here.

Bug reports and ideas stay private until a person on our team has read them; we do not moderate with automated tools. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and by limits on how often they can be sent. We may edit what you post to remove personal data or to make it easier to read, merge it with a report about the same thing, decline to publish it, remove it or close it. When we decline, remove or close something you posted, we tell you why and which rule or law it rests on, and you can reply to ask us to look again.

You keep the rights to what you write. You allow us, free of charge and for as long as it is on this website, also after you delete your account, to store and copy it, show it publicly on this website and in e-mails to the people who follow it, edit it as described above and use it to improve LanternWP. Your site's address, screenshots and system report are never published. When you delete your account, we remove your name and e-mail address and delete your private details; published reports and ideas stay without your name, so that the history of a fix stays complete.

6. Reporting illegal content

Anyone can tell us about content on this website they believe is illegal. Write to hello@lanternwp.com with its address, why you believe it is illegal, your name and e-mail address, and a statement that you believe in good faith that your notice is accurate and complete. We confirm that we received it, look at it promptly, and tell you what we decided and how to ask us to look again. This address is also our point of contact for authorities and users under the EU Digital Services Act; write in English or Polish.

7. Complaints

If something on this website does not work as these terms describe, or you disagree with a decision we made about what you posted or about your account, write to hello@lanternwp.com and say what happened. A person reads every complaint, and we reply within 14 days.

8. The theme, the plugin and the demo stores

The LanternWP theme and the LanternWP Companion plugin are free software under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. That licence, not these terms, sets how you may use, change and share them, and, as it says, they come without warranty. Demo stores contain sample products, texts and images to help you set up a store. Replace them with your own before you open your store; the sample shipping, terms and privacy pages say they are demo text and are not legal documents.

9. Liability

We work to keep this website available and its content correct, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. If you are a consumer, or a sole trader using the website outside your profession, we are liable to you as the law provides, and these terms limit none of your rights. If you use the website for your business otherwise, we are not liable for lost profits or indirect losses, unless we caused them intentionally.

10. Changes to these terms

We change these terms only when the law or a decision of a court or an authority requires it, when we add, change or stop something the website offers, when it is needed to keep the website and the people using it safe, or to make the terms clearer or correct a mistake. If you have an account, we e-mail you at least 14 days before a change takes effect; if you do not agree, delete your account before then. Changes never apply to what happened before them.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you. Disputes go to the court that has jurisdiction under the law; as a consumer you may also turn to an out-of-court consumer dispute body in your country.
