Download the theme
Upload it in Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme. Once LanternWP is listed on WordPress.org, WordPress updates it from there.
Downloading lanternwp-0.2.3.zip. Upload and activate it, then get Companion for the demo stores.

Download Companion
Upload it in Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin. It is not in the plugin directory: lanternwp.com ships it and its updates.
Downloading lanternwp-companion-0.1.2.zip. Upload and activate it, then open Appearance → Demos to import a store.

Before you download.
Is it really free?
Yes: the theme, Companion, every demo store and every feature. There is no Pro version and nothing to unlock later.
Do I need Companion?
Only for the demo stores and the extra store features. The theme works on its own.
Why is Companion not in the plugin directory?
We ship it from lanternwp.com, so its updates come only from us. WordPress still offers them in Dashboard → Updates, like any other plugin’s.
When is the theme on WordPress.org?
It is in the directory’s review queue. Once it is listed, WordPress updates the theme you uploaded from there, like any other.
